“I like to say that Thabit does Yoda moves on my son; he is just as rare and spectacular as Yoda. Thabit is one of those teachers that you will remember your whole life because they teach you both life lessons and create frequent “Aha!” moments in the subject they are teaching.
Both my 11 year old son with ADHD/ASD and I love Thabit. Thabit demonstrates math problems visually with manipulatives and shows my son several different ways of doing the same problem. My son can then choose the strategy with which he is most comfortable while also being introduced to anything that he might see in class. But, my favorite thing about Thabit is how he truly follows my son’s lead, is kind and gentle about any distractibility, and teaches him to be aware of his need for movement and for taking time to consider a question rather than immediately going to “I don’t know.” Many teachers will accuse my son of not paying attention when he is actually trying to process through his answer. Thabit always waits patiently and then praises my son for having taken his time to answer.
My favorite story about Thabit happened when my son was actually not paying attention and had picked up a deck of cards in the middle of a lesson about multiplication. Thabit vocalized “Hmm?” a few times, and I was thinking that my son was about to be scolded, but instead Thabit inquired about the card and launched into a whole lesson about symmetry by which my son was captivated.
Thabit’s flexibility, gentleness and expertise in his field make him a rare find. I can’t recommend him highly enough.”

“My son Sammy, has always been able to grasp the higher concepts of math pretty easily. However, the gaps in his basic math knowledge became more problematic as he was introduced to more complex concepts. Thabit has been amazing at identifying the gaps and understanding Sammy’s learning style. He is able to keep him interested and engaged. I just had my first Parent Teacher Conference since Sammy started working with Thabit. The teacher told me that Sammy was struggling in the beginning of the school year and all of a sudden everything just seemed to click. He is now thriving in his math class. Thanks so much Thabit!”
“We want to thank you for everything that you’ve done for Jeffrey these past two years. We’ve told Jeffrey that he would be lucky to have at least one teacher who he’ll remember for the rest of his life. We think you’ll be that teacher. You gave Jeffrey the encouragement he needed to find himself academically and emotionally. Jeffrey now defines himself by his strengths rather than by his challenges. We are in your debt.”
“Working with Thabit has been awesome. My daughter Maggie is going into fourth grade – she’s a capable math student but was showing frustration and discouragement when doing homework. We hoped enrichment over the summer could help build on the math skills she learned at school last year and increase her confidence. Thabit doesn’t teach rote math skills – he teaches a way of thinking about numbers and the connections between them that keeps Maggie engaged for the entire lesson and even teaching us new math games in the time between. Her ability – and more importantly – her interest in playing with numbers and math concepts in her head has made a huge leap forward. Thabit works magic – I couldn’t recommend him more highly.”
“For the rest of my days I will credit your class for helping shape me as the thinker and person I am today. It was an experience I will never forget.'”
